Terms of Service
These terms govern moving services provided by Son Movers, a licensed and insured household-goods mover based at 45610 Woodland Rd, Suite 100, Sterling, VA 20166, and your use of jpandsonmovers.com. By booking a move or requesting a quote, you agree to what follows.
Estimates and booking
Virginia law requires a written estimate before any household-goods move, and we provide one for every job — a flat-rate for local moves and a binding written quote for long-distance. A non-refundable-on-late-cancellation deposit of $150 reserves your date and crew, and that amount is credited toward your final balance. Local services are billed at $169 per hour for a two-mover crew or $229 for a three-mover crew; long-distance work starts at $2,580. Final charges follow the written estimate unless the scope of the job changes on move day, in which case we will tell you before continuing.
Your responsibilities
Please give us accurate information about your move, including item counts, heavy or specialty pieces, stairs, elevators, and any HOA or building requirements such as a certificate of insurance or a reserved move-in window. You are responsible for securing parking and access at both addresses, for disclosing hazardous or prohibited items, which we will not transport, and for being available to direct the crew on move day.
Liability and coverage
Our standard liability is released-value protection at $0.60 per pound per item, the baseline set by regulation, with up to $1,000,000 in cargo coverage per shipment; full-value protection is available if arranged before the move. We are not liable for items packed by the customer in their own boxes, for pre-existing damage, or for ordinary wear. Any claim must be submitted in writing within the time required by applicable Virginia and federal regulations.
Cancellation and governing law
You may reschedule with reasonable notice and your deposit will carry to the new date. Cancellations made well in advance are handled case by case; a last-minute cancellation may forfeit the deposit since the crew and truck were held for you. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts serving Loudoun County, Virginia. We may revise these terms and will post the current version on this page.
