Reston Movers

A Sterling-based crew working Reston and the rest of Northern Virginia.

Reston, VA Moving Services

Reston is the planned community Bob Simon laid out in the 1960s, and it still moves differently than the rest of NoVA. Down Route 7 and the Toll Road from our Sterling base, it runs from the mid-rise condos and luxury towers clustered around Reston Town Center to the village clusters with their lakes, paths, and the Reston Association’s well-known rulebook. Our crew has loaded enough Reston jobs to know that the high-rises here almost always want a certificate of insurance and a booked elevator before move day, and the village-cluster townhomes come with their own pathway-and-parking quirks.

The Town Center towers are the part most movers underestimate. Reserved freight elevators, padded-wall requirements, dock check-in, and strict move hours mean a job that runs smooth only if the paperwork is done in advance. We handle that COI and the building’s move packet before our truck leaves Sterling.

Built for Reston’s High-Rises and Clusters

For a Town Center condo we send a crew sized to beat the elevator clock and protect the common hallways the building manager will inspect afterward. For a lakeside village-cluster home we work the footpaths and shared lots that cars can’t always reach. Either way it’s our own uniformed movers on our trucks, the same crew start to finish. A 1-bedroom Town Center condo typically lands in the $700–$1,040 range; a 3-bedroom cluster townhome runs $1,960–$2,880. Two movers and a truck are $169/hr; we’ll add a third at $229/hr when the elevator window is tight and the clock is the real constraint. We give you a written estimate before move day, so the price is locked before our truck leaves Sterling.

★★★★★

“One Loudoun high-rise, fifth floor. Freight elevator, COI, reserved dock, all the building hoops. Son Movers cleared every one of them and the move ran like clockwork.”

“Big Great Falls house with a long gravel drive and a lot of antiques. I was nervous about the breakables but the crew brought extra blankets and a custom crate for the marble-top table. Three trucks worth of stuff and they kept an inventory sheet so nothing got lost in the shuffle. The 3-mover rate was higher per hour but they got it done in half the days a smaller crew would've needed, so it actually came out cheaper.”

“Moved out of Centreville and the only hiccup was the Beltway being a parking lot, which pushed the truck's arrival back a bit. The dispatcher called ahead so I wasn't sitting there wondering. Once they got there the actual move was quick and careful. Fair price for the area.”

FAQ

My building at Reston Town Center needs a COI before I can reserve the elevator. Can you provide one?
Yes, and we do it routinely for the towers there. Send us your building's insurance requirements and we'll issue a certificate naming the property exactly how management asks, then book the freight elevator in the same window.
How do you handle a move in one of the lakeside village clusters where the truck can't reach the door?
We carry from wherever we can legally park along the shared lot and work the footpaths in. Our movers bring extra dollies and padding for the longer carry, and we walk the route with you first so the estimate reflects the real distance.
The Town Center buildings only allow moves during set hours. Will your crew finish in time?
We size the crew to the window. If your building only allows a few hours, we send a third mover at $229/hr so the load goes faster and we're done and out before your reserved elevator time runs out.
